Welcome to Day 6 of our prayer journey leading up to the Women's Conference! Today, we’re focusing on cleansing our hearts. In order to receive all that God wants to pour into us, we need to make room. The best way to do that is to remove the “garbage” that has been taking up space.
I encourage you to read the prayer below silently first, and then pray it out loud. This will help you understand what you’re coming into agreement with, and allow the prayer to truly become your own. This prayer is written in the first person so that you can declare it with boldness!
“Holy Spirit, thank You for leading me and guiding me into all truth. Thank You for comforting me and giving me hope. Thank You for being my ever-present help in times of trouble. Thank You for correcting me so that I can heal and obtain all the promises of God.
Today, I ask that You would come and purify my heart. Wash me clean through the blood of Jesus, who paid the price for my sin. I choose to repent today for the opinions I have formed against others that are not based on evidence, facts, or truth. I choose to repent for the times when I have not given grace, mercy, or compassion but have condemned others for their choices. Your Word says, “Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:12, NLT).
God, I admit that, at times, I have been afraid of pain. I didn’t want to get hurt, and I may have built walls of protection in the form of unforgiveness and bitterness. Lord, I see now that those walls don’t serve me, but rather, they block my blessings.
Your Word says, “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love” (Ephesians 4:2, NLT). I admit that I need Your help to be humble, gentle, and patient with others. Your Word tells me to “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31-32, NLT). Show me the areas of my heart that I need to forgive and let go of bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander.
Even now, I repent for harboring any unforgiveness toward myself, my spouse, my family, my friends, or anyone known or unknown. By an act of my will, I choose to forgive those who have hurt me or caused me harm because the same blood of Jesus that washes me of my sins is the same blood that cleanses others of the sins they have done to me. I wipe the slate clean. Holy Spirit, heal my heart so that I can wholeheartedly align with Your will. I repent from holding on to any offense, regardless of whether it was intended or not. I ask that You tear down any wall between You and me, any wall that is blocking my blessings and blocking my ability to hear and obey the voice of the Lord, my God. I want to do Your will in Jesus’ name, amen. Let it be.”
Thank you for standing with me in prayer today! I pray that you feel the release and the healing comfort of the Holy Spirit after your prayer.
